Australia’s Largest Apartment Developer Partners With Livable Houseing Australia
13 August 2014
Australia’s largest apartment developer, Meriton Group, has signed a partnership with Livable Housing Australia (LHA) which will see it champion best practice benchmarks for livable design.
Meriton Group is proud to announce its Platinum Corporate Partnership with Livable Housing Australia, and we support LHA’s commitment to universal standards of safety, comfort and design excellence,ù says Meriton’s General Manager, Peter Spira.
Good apartment design adapts to the changing circumstances and mobility of its residents through every stage of life and the LHA logo is a stamp of quality assurance that people can trust.
Meriton has been delivering quality apartments for 50 years, and we’re delighted to be a part of this evolution.
LHA’s Executive Director, Amelia Starr, says Meriton’s commitment is another step on the road towards industry adoption of the Livable Housing Design Guidelines.
Meriton joins a growing list of Corporate Partners, which include the Australian Institute of Architects, Property Council of Australia, Lend Lease, Master Builders Australia and Stockland.
The leaders in the property and construction industry are embracing the guidelines because they know these simple and straightforward design features make a home easier to live in – and ultimately easier to sell.
We are excited that Meriton will now receive official recognition for a design standard that it has been quietly meeting for some time,ù Ms Starr adds.
The Property Council of Australia’s Chief Executive Officer, Ken Morrison, congratulated Meriton Group on its leadership.
“Meriton Group’s decision to get behind LHA is to be applauded and sends a signal to the rest of the industry. The industry’s leaders understand that a livable home is simply good design that meets the needs of all Australians, Mr Morrison says.
