Coco is Meriton’s latest ‘sweet’ offering

9 June 2017

THE Meriton group, after enjoying sweet early success at major Rosebery apartment project The Gallery, is out to tempt buyer tastebuds this weekend with the launch of a new stage.

Coco, which will have 189 expansive apartments, follows on from Mint, The Gallery’s first stage which is rushing toward a sell-out.

The Gallery, a master-planned community, will provide 895 apartments on a 4.9ha former warehouse and factory property in Rothschild Avenue, bought by the Harry

Triguboff-headed Meriton for $190 million in 2015. One of the factories made confectionary, including Minties, and each stage is drawing its name from that ‘sweet’ history. Coco’s statement design pays homage to Rosebery’s industrial past and its vibrant future.

Meriton says The Gallery, and new stage Coco, continue the group’s efforts to offer people living in its buildings stylish apartments that are more than just a home.

New ‘designers’, or architects, have been enlisted by Meriton for each of the four stages in The Gallery, which is intended to provide boutique mid-rise luxury on the doorstep of the $13 billion Green Square urban renewal project.

First-release Mint quickly made its mark and a penthouse sold for a Rosebery apartment record of $3.22 million. The Gallery’s second stage will have a grand communal park and residents will be

encouraged to use facilities such as a multi-purpose court, a sports lawn, a table tennis venue, a barbecue and picnic area, and an extensive range of play equipment.

They also will be able relax in a parkside café precinct. James Sialepis, Meriton’s director sales, says the park has ‘excited’ buyers in Mint and also is expected to be a big positive with buyers in Coco.

Mr Sialepis says the park is Meriton’s latest effort to ensure that life is not ‘all work and no play’ for its residents.

“We’ve been pacesetters in the resort lifestyle field with things such as indoor heated pools, saunas, spas and gymnasiums, all of which will be available to Coco residents.

“We’ve also led the field in providing childcare centres and two are being included at The Gallery.

“We’re not resting on our laurels, we’re constantly shaping apartment fashions, and Coco residents will benefit from that.”

Designed by DKO, Coco will consist of two seven-level buildings, and its apartments will include some of the largest available in the Rosebery area.

Construction of Coco is under way, with apartments ranging from $730,000 to $2 million.

Mr Sialepis says Coco, like Mint, will reflect Meriton’s determination to provide apartments that offer superior quality and designer finishes and fittings.

“Our efforts include providing the latest in appliances, large format porcelain tiles in living areas and kitchens, and flowing indoor-outdoor terraces and garden terraces to expand living spaces.”

The grounds at The Gallery will include large lawns, shady groves, playgrounds and paths that weave around the buildings. The Gallery’s residents will have quick access to Green Square, which involves old warehouses and factories making way for not only apartments, but for name retailers, cafes, artisan providores, micro-breweries, and designer stores.

The Gallery is close to the planned Gunyama Park and Aquatic Centre and is handy to the Green Square train station, putting commuters only a five-minute ride away from the Sydney CBD.
