‘Infinity’ Wins Best High-Density Residential Development Award
31 July 2014
Meriton’s ‘Infinity’ tower has won the 2014 Urban Taskforce Development Excellence award for ‘High-Density Residential Development’. The landmark Meriton building by Brisbane’s DBI Design was selected by an esteemed judging panel including NSW government architect Peter Poulet and Sydney Morning Herald commercial property editor Carolyn Cummins.
Meriton’s 81-storey tower in Brisbane has set new standards in that city, said Urban Taskforce CEO Chris Johnson.
The industry accolade marks the second win for the residential tower this year, following on from a ‘5-star’ International Property Award for Best Residential High-Rise Asia-Pacific in May.
Its sister tower, ‘Soleil’, won the 2014 Property Council of Australia award for Best Residential Development and a 2013 Urban Taskforce Development Excellence award for Residential Development.
A true ‘vertical village’ for its many residents, Brisbane’s tallest residential tower won over the judges with its strong architectural and aesthetic appeal. The building is also home to Meriton Serviced Apartments Brisbane on Herschel Street, catering to guests from all over the world with Brisbane’s highest luxury accommodation including a newly unveiled Penthouse Collection.
The building has a heated lap pool, fully equipped gymnasium, spa and sauna as well as a cafe, Ad Infinitum, on the grounds.
The property offers spectacular, unsurpassed views of Brisbane city and the river, with contrasting facades – crisp, white vertical blades on one side and smooth horizontal spandrels on the other – which create an arresting visage.
The design by DBI blends subtle colours and finishes to create an iconic glass tower which has transformed the Brisbane city skyline.
