Meriton showcases Vibrant Mascot Central Retail Precinct with a Family Fun Day tomorrow
16 August 2016
MERITON, Australia’s largest apartment developer, is to showcase its vibrant Mascot Central Retail Precinct at a family fun day on Saturday 20 August in conjunction with the opening of Sydney Airport’s newest full-service accommodation at Meriton Serviced Apartments Mascot.
Mascot Central, winner of the 2016 Urban Taskforce award for mixed-use development excellence, is a master planned development transforming Sydney CBD’s southern corridor offering 1,200 luxurious apartments including 386 one bedroom serviced apartment suites and 3,400sqm of lush parklands.
The retail precinct, which is at the heart of the four-tower development is to be transformed into a lush urban jungle complete with animals, face-painting, giveaways and live entertainment. Meriton says the day is not just for the multitude of families taking up residence at Mascot Central, but for all families in the area.
“We are extremely proud of Mascot Central’s retail precinct and the buzz it has developed as more and more people become aware of what it has to offer”, says Meriton director James Sialepis. ”It’s a very family-friendly destination with a welcoming marketplace.”
Mascot Central will start the celebrations on Friday, aimed at workers so that they can experience the precinct’s theming and sample some of the offerings of retailers.
“We hope that having literally tasted the retail precinct, they will return with their families on the Saturday,” says Mr Sialepis.
Saturday’s family day is intended to offer an exciting outing for children and will include a live petting zoo, complete with reptiles such as a crocodile, frogs, birds and a possum.
“The animal theme is in tune with the 3,400sqm of parkland that will be a major Mascot Central asset,” says Mr Sialepis.
Retailers in the precinct will be offering product samples, there will be balloons and face-painting, and radio station Nova will give a three-hour outdoor broadcast with giveaways.
Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation will be participating over the days to drive fundraising. Roly-Poly Child Care, located within the retail precinct, will be supporting the hospital by offering the Foundation a $250 donation for every child it enrols over the weekend.
The family day will provide visitors an opportunity to learn about Mascot Central and its features, such as the sophisticated one bedroom serviced apartment suites including an arrivals lounge, the large three-bedroom residential apartments and a host of recreational options that have made it a hit with families.
Mascot Central Retail Precinct is anchored by a full-size Woolworths supermarket and includes 16 specialty stores including , Oliver Brown, a boutique florist with a café, arguably some of Sydney’s best pork rolls at Destination Roll, and a new Italian restaurant, La Bufala (opening mid-2016).
Conveniently located just moments from Mascot train station, just five kilometres to the city and two kilometres to Sydney Airport, the lush, landscaped precinct provides the retail necessities for the local community.
