New Look For A Time-Honoured Brand

8 December 2014

Meriton today unveiled its brand-new corporate identity and logo, taking the 51-year-old Australian household name into the new year with a modern twist.

Gone is the famous crown, established in 1963 along with Meriton itself, while a new …M’ evokes the peaks of a residential tower, referencing the developer’s contribution to the city skyline over 50 years.

The bold new look has been rolled out across the entire Meriton Group and marks the first time Meriton’s award-winning accommodation brand, Meriton Serviced Apartments, has been positioned alongside the group’s residential arm.

Meriton founder and managing director Harry Triguboff has driven the change, said Meriton marketing director Michael Latham.

Harry Triguboff is constantly seeking to develop and innovate our offering, he said.

We have built some of Australia’s tallest residential buildings in spectacular locations. We lead the way in creating dynamic communities. To reflect this evolution, we have a new look and feel.

The developer produces around 10 per cent of all multi-unit dwellings in Australia, equating to 1.5 per cent of investment in new housing nationally and 0.05 per cent of Australia’s GDP.*

The brand update was considered to better reflect the sophistication and quality of the Meriton product, added Michael Latham. In a nod to its heritage, the company logo’s distinctive blue and gold colouring remains.

Our commitment to developing Australia’s best apartments has not changed. We’re still focused on producing market-leading apartments and will continue to lift the quality of our finishes to meet buyers’ changing tastes.

The company is celebrating the biggest year in its history, topping off a record $431 million in land acquisition and becoming Australia’s largest home builder after commencing construction on more than 7,000 homes.

The change heralds a stronger focus for Meriton on mixed-use developments with community facilities including parks, playgrounds, childcare, retail shops and restaurants.

Said Cameron Ross of Bullet Studios, who is behind the new logo design, We aimed to usher in a new era for Meriton, an era of prosperity and distinction among its peers.

Meriton is rich in heritage, a leader in quality and has an understanding of the way people want to live. The four points of the …M’ hark back to its original …crown’; the peaks refer to its new heights of success.
