New-look Riverview apartments set to sail

DEVELOPER Harry Triguboff responds to robust buyer demand by selling off newly-renovated riverfront apartments in the inner west Sydney suburb of Rhodes.
The 59 apartments are in the 12-level Riverview building, which was completed in 2009 at the tip of the Rhodes peninsula and retained by Mr Triguboff’s Meriton group.
Riverview, in which majority of apartments look north across the Parramatta River to Sydney Olympic Park and the Sydney CBD skyline, is on a 4848sqm site at 2 Mill Park Street.
Mr Triguboff yesterday said the market in Rhodes had strengthened considerably as buyers realised what an appealing lifestyle was on offer in the area.
“With the limited stock we have in Rhodes, and to meet the markets demand we’ve chosen to update and upgrade the Riverview apartments.
“They have generous open layouts and are well designed.
“Making them brand new, with touches that include stainless-steel European appliances and smoked mirror splashbacks, plush carpets, and contemporary bathroom designs, has been a rewarding journey.”
The apartments also have large enclosed entertaining balconies and many have either a study or media room.
Mr Triguboff said Rhodes had evolved into a high-demand area because it offered a quiet lifestyle where people were away from the hectic inner-city pace.
“We think Riverview fits the buyer bill and we’re already seeing apartments sail out the door.”
James Sialepis, the Meriton director of sales, said Meriton was offering existing residents the first chance to buy at Riverview.
“They are Riverview’s best ambassadors and the idea of becoming owners has been met with very positive responses.”
Mr Sialepis said the term ‘everything’s on the doorstep’ was very true at Riverview.
“That’s especially so in the leisure sense, with Mill Park across the road and Sydney Olympic Park but a walk or ride along the river foreshore.
“The Rhodes train station and the Meadowbank Wharf are a stroll away and shopping centres and top education establishments are handy.”
Mr Sialepis said the appeal of the ‘Rhodes side of town’ was illustrated by the success Meriton was enjoying in the nearby Sydney Olympic Park.
The group has just completed a 331-unit medium-rise community called Botania and has embarked on a 1500-apartment project, The Retreat, nearby.
“The word ‘lifestyle’ is the catchcry with many buyers and tranquil areas such as Rhodes and the Olympic park precinct are gold-medal winners,” said Mr Sialepis.
The size of the Riverview site has allowed the inclusion of resident facilities such as an indoor aquatic centre, cafe and convenience store.
Floor areas range from 47sqm to 154sqm and all apartments come with either one or two undercover parking bays.
Prices start at $495,000 for a studio apartment and go to $2.02 million for a three-bedroom apartment with three bedrooms.
Mr Sialepis said the apartments were popular with tenants and consequently achieved strong rental returns.
“The weekly rents being paid start at $500 in the case of the studios and go through to a $790 starting point for the three-bedroom apartments.”
