VIDA goes Platinum

11 November 2016

MERITON, out to show that smaller buildings can be big on elegance and quality, is launching a boutique Mascot project that will announce the arrival of its Platinum Collection.

VIDA, in Gardeners Road, will showcase the standout designs and top-line fixtures and fittings that will be a hallmark of all Platinum Collection apartment buildings.

The eight-level Vida is being undertaken on a 1626sqm site selected by a man who has been the prime mover in Meriton moving into the high-end boutique field, Development & Operations Manager Daniel Hendler.

Mr Hendler, the grandson of Meriton founder Harry Triguboff, yesterday said he had determined that there was an unsatisfied niche in the market.

“There are people like young professional couples and families who want ‘homes’ that are classy and are within easy access of the city and the airport.

“The Vida-type product also is one that investors love, because of the higher rents that can be generated, but often can’t find.”

Mr Hendler said the Vida site, in the Mascot urban hub, was a perfect one on which to debut a new style of apartment building.

“Meriton’s aim is to deliver a project loaded with panache, from the design of the building and its apartments through to the finer details internally.

“Hand in hand with that aim is the need to provide really spacious apartments that are light, airy and private but with views that keep residents very much in touch with the world outside.”

Vida’s 46 apartments, some of the largest in the heart of Mascot, will be spread over two curvaceous buildings.

There will be an average of four apartments a floor and they will have unimpeded views of the Sydney CBD skyline and South Sydney.

Rooftop private gardens, with residents’ barbecues, will have all-encompassing views.

There will be one, two and three-bedroom apartments, many with large study rooms, and they will start at $640,000 and top $1 million.

The ground-floor apartments each will have private courtyards and all other apartments-entertainment size balconies.

Mr Hendler said he had been pedantic in the search for premium fittings and fixtures.

The upshot was that apartments would include features such as Italian brushed nickel tapware, striking freestanding baths, and designer pendant lights over island benches.

Vida will have secure parking in a basement that will have storage areas and bicycle racks.
