Zetland’s Tallest Tower Wins Best High-Rise Apartment Complex
6 November 2014
Meriton’s …VSQ North’, which includes the tallest apartment tower in Zetland, has won the 2014 HIA-CSR NSW Housing award for …Best Apartment Complex’ over 10 storeys.
Designed by Turner architects and developed by Meriton, the complex of four elegant buildings includes a distinctive purple-hued glass tower soaring 27 levels and offering panoramic views of Sydney’s Centennial Park, The Lakes golf course and the city skyline.
VSQ North was completed in July 2013 and has been a significant driver in the transformation of Zetland from a largely industrial suburb into a thriving cosmopolitan neighbourhood.
One of the first residential high-rises in what is now a booming real estate hotspot close to the $8 billion Green Square project, VSQ North is home to 297 households and hosts an indoor aquatic centre with lap pool, spa and sauna, a fully equipped gymnasium and a convenient onsite childcare centre.
The complex has a 6.3-star thermal comfort rating, featuring energy-efficient fittings and fixtures throughout and 131 bicycle spots for the enthusiastic resident cycling community.
It’s very good to see VSQ North obtain recognition for its quality, design and amenities,ù said Meriton managing director Harry Triguboff.
It has become a landmark building for Zetland and for Sydney itself – it is one of the first buildings you see as you drive in from the airport. We’re very proud of it and the residents love living here. We believed in Zetland from the beginning.ù
The HIA (Housing Institute of Australia) NSW Housing awards honour the highest achievements in the residential building industry, recognising outstanding workmanship, design and innovation.
